I NEED YOU

Spendin’ all my time on you

Was it even worth a dime

If you can’t even see the truth

Then I know I must be blind

I need, I need you

I need you to walk away

Believe, believe me,

Believe me, i won’t let you stay

Just go away

Give me some time

There’s nothing you can say

That’s gonna change my mind

I need, I need you

I need you to go away

Believe, believe me,

Believe me, I won’t let you stay

I can’t let you stay

I need, i need you

I need you to go away

Believe, believe me,

Believe me, i won’t let you stay

I can’t let you stay

You do what you want to

Because you can

After all we’ve been through

You think i’ll understand

Well, if you think we’ll still be friends

Then you haven’t got a clue

You wonder how it’s gonna end

Let me spell it out for you

I need, i need you

I need you to walk away

Believe, believe me

Believe me, i won’t let you stay

I was just stupid

To think you’d change

You could not do it

To think i could is just insane

I NEED YOU

The title makes you think it’s going to be a certain type of love song, but if you listen to the lyrics, I’m basically telling someone to get lost. Like I love you but you’re bad for me and I need you to walk away. I can’t let you stay. And if you think we’re still going to be friends, you haven’t got a clue. I’m basically admitting I’ve been allowing this toxic relationship with the bad guy to go on too long, letting the guy get away with certain behaviors and treating me wrong. It’s like the 2023 version of Ray Charles’ “Hit the Road Jack.”
